CINCINNATI, Oct. 01, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- After steadily growing our biannual job fair in recent years, Cincinnati Works has partnered with Jobcase to offer significantly more opportunities at our next event. The 2018 Fall Job Fair will be held Tuesday, October 2, at the Cintas Center, where we have space for more than 40 employers and 400 job seekers.
In addition to meeting with local employers, job seekers will be able to get a free headshot and resume review from Jobcase, and they can meet additional service organizations in the community resource center.
The event is open to all job seekers from 1 – 4 pm at the Cintas Center on Xavier University’s campus, 1624 Herald Ave. Registered Members of Cincinnati Works can enter at noon for additional access to the employers, which include Kroger, Fifth Third Bank, Children’s Hospital, JACK Casino and Coca-Cola.
Cincinnati Works has more than 20 years of experience helping individuals in poverty earn, maintain and in many cases advance within new careers. Our biannual job fairs are central to that mission. Nearly 80 percent of our Members who attended a previous Cincinnati Works job fair were invited to interview with at least one of the companies they met at the fair.
The employers have seen similar value in our events. One participant commented after our most recent job fair, “Your event was a refreshing change. The high turnout was amazing, and the job seekers were quality candidates. Nearly every single person said hello, looked me in the eye, shook my hand and asked about our company and what we do. They were pleasant. That is a rare occurrence at a job fair.”
We have once again partnered with Jobcase, the social platform for the future of work, to engage job seekers before and after the event. In addition to the headshots and resume review, Jobcase provides attendees with one place online to manage every part of their work lives – from networking and knowledge-sharing to job opportunities and support.
Cincinnati Works coaches will be on-site to assist job seekers in making connections with employers and other non-profit agencies.
