GrowLife, Inc. to Exhibit at HempFest Calgary as Country Prepares for Oct. 17 Cannabis Legalization

KIRKLAND, Wash., Oct. 11, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- GrowLife, Inc. (OTCQB: PHOT), one of the nation’s most recognized indoor cultivation product and service providers, today announced the company will exhibit at  HempFest Calgary on Oct. 13-14, 2018. The annual cannabis trade show will be held at Stampede Park at 1801 Big Four Trail SE, Calgary, Alberta. HempFest Calgary will take place just days before Canada’s October 17 legalization of cannabis, which will also allow for cannabidiol (CBD) hemp oil to be extracted from the hemp plant, creating massive opportunity for GrowLife to offer products and services to the expanding marijuana and hemp industries. Deloitte estimates the Canadian cannabis market has a base retail value between $4.9 billion to $8.7 billion, which would rival the size of the $5 billion Canadian spirits market.

During the two-day event, GrowLife Commercial Division President Joe Barnes, along with other staff members, will be in attendance to meet with other cannabis industry leaders within Canada as well as discuss GrowLife’s products and offerings with media, exhibitors and attendees.

“The timing to exhibit at this industry event could not be better as the country prepares for adult use legalization, becoming the first G7 nation to do so, on October 17,” said GrowLife CEO Marco Hegyi. “As the industry prepares for massive growth, this event presents an ideal opportunity to market our e-commerce and direct to consumers sales channels of thousands of cultivation products and make meaningful connections with leaders in cannabis cultivation.”

When ancillary services such as those offered by GrowLife are factored into the overall value of the Canadian cannabis industry, Deloitte estimates the base retail value of the Canadian cannabis market will expand to between $12.7 billion and $22.6 billion. GrowLife aims to be a primary provider of ancillary products and services to service growers, testing labs, lighting, and security systems throughout North America. Earlier this year, GrowLife opened a new retail location GrowLife Hydroponics in Calgary, Alberta, to meet the demands of the growing Canadian cannabis cultivation market. In addition to GrowLife’s participation at HempFest Calgary, the company will host a legalization celebration at its GrowLife Hydroponics storefront, located at 2323 32nd Ave #113 in Calgary, Alberta, on October 17 during the business hours of 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

“We are excited to exhibit at HempFest Calgary, and look forward to hosting our own celebration of Canada’s adult-use legalization at our Calgary storefront on October 17,” Barnes said. “Earlier this year, we opened our Calgary storefront knowing it would serve as a pivotal location for supporting our distribution offerings throughout the country. Now, with legalization almost here, we are thrilled to hit the ground running and supply the Canadian cannabis industry with what they need to have successful and cost effective growing operations.”

The promise of legalization has spawned a so-called green rush, with the industry now worth more than $60.6 billion on the Canadian Stock Exchange. GrowLife is poised to serve as the ‘picks and shovels’ leader for this new industry, offering industry-leading hydroponics and thousands of other brands and products that cater to cultivators of all sizes.
