YotaScale Announces Appointment of Usman Abbasi as CTO

Former Google and PayPal Engineering Executive Joins Executive Team of Fast-Growing Cloud Infrastructure Management Start-up

MENLO PARK, Calif., Oct. 17, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- YotaScale today announced the appointment of Usman Abbasi as CTO and vice president of engineering. In this role, Usman is responsible for building YotaScale’s engineering team and driving the next phase of innovation and growth for the company, which applies machine learning to some of the most significant challenges arising from enterprise cloud adoption. YotaScale also named Garrett Reynolds, former director of customer success at ServiceNow, as the new head of customer success, as well as Grant Swanson, who most recently led demand generation for Avi Networks, as head of global demand generation and marketing operations.

“I spent nearly seven years at Google seeing first-hand how sophisticated cloud-native technology is deployed at scale. In leading teams that helped customers adopt Google Cloud Platform, I was struck by how hard it is for most companies to deal with the complexity in this transition,” said Usman Abbasi, CTO and vice president of engineering of YotaScale. “By combining deep infrastructure knowledge and modern applied machine learning techniques, YotaScale has taken a novel approach to help its customers in this transition by providing critical insight into their cloud computing environments.”

Usman is an experienced engineering leader, having built and managed teams across many products and infrastructure domains including cloud, e-commerce, payments, mobile, developer and enterprise. His most recent role focused on improving the Google Cloud Platform (GCP) developer experience, helping drive developer engagement and satisfaction across the platform. He previously led teams for Google Wallet, PayPal Mobile and Core Infrastructure, and he brings nearly two decades of infrastructure and application development background to YotaScale, with experience solving some of the most challenging technology issues faced by enterprise customers today.

“I’m delighted to welcome Usman Abbasi to the YotaScale team. Usman’s deep technical expertise and experience building engineering teams at Google and PayPal make him the ideal engineering leader as we scale the company and our solution to meet demand,” said Asim Razzaq, CEO of YotaScale. “And leading our customer success organization, Garrett Reynolds will apply his experience at cloud vanguards like Salesforce and ServiceNow to deliver sustained value to our growing customer community. We are not only expanding the executive team, but also continuing to recruit across engineering, sales and marketing, in order to serve large enterprise customer organizations with a technology solution and experience second to none.”
