Ottawa Campus Workers and Students say: Hands Off Workers’ Rights!


Ottawa, Oct. 31, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- In light of the recent introduction of Bill 47 by the Doug Ford government, students and campus workers in Ottawa unite to send a clear message to Merrilee Fullerton, Minister of Training Colleges and Universities: Hands off workers’ rights! Beyond the proposed roll back of the $15 minimum wage expected in January, students and campus workers oppose this government’s proposals to repeal equal pay for equal work, fair scheduling laws, paid sick days and union rights.

 

Who: The Ontario Confederation of University Faculty Associations (OCUFA), the Association of Professors of the University of Ottawa (APUO), OPSEU Local 415 (representing professors at Algonquin College), the Canadian Federation of Students, Fight for $15 and Fairness, and other members of the labour and student movements.
