Ontario SPCA kicks off “iAdopt for the Holidays” adoption blitz

STOUFFVILLE, Ontario, Nov. 05, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- This holiday season, give a homeless animal the gift of a loving family to call their own during the national iAdopt for the Holidays adoption campaign, a program of the Ontario SPCA.

iAdopt for the Holidays, supported by Royal Canin, has kicked off and runs until Dec. 31 at participating SPCAs, Humane Societies and rescue groups nation wide. The goal is to get as many animals as possible placed into loving homes during the holiday season. Last year, over 4,000 animals from across Canada found their forever homes during the iAdopt for the Holidays campaign.

“Nothing brings joy to a home like the love of an adopted animal who has found a family to call their own,” says Daryl Vaillancourt, Senior Director, Humane Programs and Community Outreach, Ontario SPCA. “And with people having time off from work and being home together as a family, the holidays are a great time to welcome a new furry companion and help them get settled.”

All adopters who bring home a cat or kitten from an Ontario SPCA animal centre during the month of November will receive a box of Arm & Hammer™ Slide™ Easy Clean-Up Clumping Litter, while supplies last. All cats and kittens are spayed or neutered, microchipped, come with a gift of one month of pet insurance and are up to date on their vaccinations. The Ontario SPCA also has dogs and small pets waiting patiently to be adopted.

Adopt a pet from the Ontario SPCA or a participating partner during the iAdopt for the Holidays campaign and your name will be entered for a chance to WIN free pet food for a year from Royal Canin.

Already have an adopted pet? Post a photo of your adopted pet on social media using #iAdopt, tag @OntarioSPCA and claim your entry for a chance to win weekly prize packs!
