The number of passengers on international flights was 353 thousand in October and increased by 10% compared to October last year. The capacity measured in available seat kilometres (ASK) increased by 18%. The load factor was 80.9% compared to 83.4% in October last year. The number of available seats increased by 10% between years. Load factors on Icelandair´s routes in Europe were 81.0%, an increase of 2.5 percentage points from last year. Load factors to North America were 77.8%, a decrease of 5.0 percentage points from last year.
The number of passengers on domestic and regional flights were 28 thousand, decreasing by 10% compared to October last year. Flights to Belfast, Aberdeen and between Keflavik and Akureyri stopped mid of May, explaining the reduction in the number of passengers. The load factor was 69.2% increasing by 5.9 ppt. Sold block hours in charter flights increased by 18% between years. Freight increased by 4%. The number of available room nights at the Company’s Hotels was up by 21% from last year. The room occupancy was 85.1% compared to 86.3% in October 2017.
