The Gendel Girls Take Home Bronze at the 15th Annual Stevie® Awards for Women in Business

Recognition Comes on the Heels of Company Founder & CEO Kathy Gendel Receiving CEO Report's 2018 Mid-Atlantic Women's Leadership Award

PHILADELPHIA, Nov. 19, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- The Gendel Girls™, the family behind Breezies®, QVC®’s largest intimate apparel brand, took home awards in two categories last week at the 15th annual Stevie® Awards for Women in Business ceremony in New York City. Company Founder and CEO Kathy Gendel was recognized individually as a Bronze Stevie Award winner in the Female Entrepreneur of the Year - Consumer Products -10 or Less Employees category, while the company was recognized with a Bronze Stevie Award in the Company of the Year - Consumer Products - 10 or Less Employees category.

The Stevie Awards for Women in Business honor women executives, entrepreneurs, employees, and the companies they run– worldwide.  The Stevie Awards have been hailed as the world’s premier business awards. This year’s Stevie Awards for Women in Business event took place in New York City on Friday, November 16, where women executives and entrepreneurs from across the U.S.A and several other countries gathered to be honored.

“We were thrilled to be considered for this award alongside such amazing female leaders and entrepreneurs,” said Kathy Gendel. “This award speaks volumes to the blood, sweat and tears we’ve put into the business both in the last year and over the last 24 years. It’s not always an easy road, but we continue to push forward – creating new and innovative products for our customers and working to further shape Breezies into a go-to intimates brand. It’s recognition like this that makes all the hard work worth it.”

More than 1,500 entries were submitted this year for consideration in more than 90 categories, including Executive of the Year, Entrepreneur of the Year, Company of the Year, Startup of the Year, Women Helping Women, and Women Run Workplace of the Year. Finalists were determined by the average scores of more than 200 business professionals around the world, working on five juries. Their scores determined the Gold, Silver, and Bronze Stevie Award placements that were revealed at the annual awards dinner and presentations.

This recognition comes on the heels of another award win for the company and its Founder. Kathy Gendel was selected as a winner of CEO Report's 2018 Mid-Atlantic Women's Leadership Award and was honored at an awards gala in October 2018. Each of these recent wins point to the extraordinary success and momentum the company has seen over the last year. Just this year, Breezies introduced five multi-million-dollar bra silhouettes and continues to beat its own sales records with each launch. Additional product launches scheduled through the end of the year and the beginning of 2019 aim to continue The Gendel Girls’ momentum.
