ARA to Demo New Simulation Technologies at I/ITSEC 2018

Orlando, FL, Nov. 26, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Applied Research Associates, Inc. (ARA) will demo their latest cutting-edge simulation software at the 2018 Interservice/Industry Training, Simulation and Education Conference (I/ITSEC). Conference-goers can preview ARA’s latest synthetic terrain capabilities and VR and AR technologies at booth 1729:

  • Augmented Reality, Command, Control, Communicate, Coordinate (ARC4): ARC4 provides heads-up situational awareness to the dismounted warfighter during outdoor on-the-move operations. Rather than looking down at a 2D map or chest-worn computer, the soldier sees geo-registered virtual icons, text, or graphics superimposed on their view of the real world.

  • Soldier Squad Virtual Trainer (S/SVT): Experience the S/SVT multiplayer virtual reality simulation for soldier weapons training. The VR system shows a projectile traveling from launch to impact anywhere in the world, along a SAF-FIRES-generated flight path. Booth visitors can wear our HTC Vive Pro headsets to experience the VR environment firsthand.

  • Real-Time Physics Effects Library (RPEL): The RPEL software provides realistic weapons effects in real time. RPEL uses verified and validated (V&V) damage methodologies and optimization strategies to calculate physics-based damage assessment for virtual building structures, human participants, and ground vehicles, and will be shown in a federated network system.

  • SET-repo.org: ARA’s SET-repo technology is a web-based framework for sharing high-fidelity geospatial information. Sign up online to access and share content immediately or install the platform on your own private server.

I/ITSEC will be held November 26 – November 29, 2018 at the Orange County Convention Center. To set up a meeting at the show with ARA VP Randy Brown, email rbrown@ara.com.
