Valerie Vaz, Former Tribune VP of Advertising, Joins AMF Media Group

SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif., Nov. 26, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- AMF Media Group (AMF), an award-winning, full-service marketing and public relations agency, announced today that former San Luis Obispo County Tribune Vice President of Advertising and General Manager Valerie Vaz will join the agency on Dec. 3. Vaz will serve as director of account services for AMF’s San Luis Obispo office. She will lead business development and support client strategy for Central Coast accounts.

Vaz will partner with Market President Maggie Cox, who will continue to oversee the Central California region for the agency. AMF Vice President of Operations Dave Cox will transition to lead sales across all AMF offices.

“As the agency continues to grow and serve new regions, it’s critical that we recruit talented leaders who bring experience in sales management,” said Vintage Foster, CEO of AMF Media Group. “Valerie is a dynamic sales and marketing leader with experience in developing impactful marketing initiatives. We are thrilled to have her join AMF.”

Vaz brings more than 20 years of experience in digital and traditional sales, management and marketing to AMF Media Group. As vice president of advertising for the San Luis Obispo County Tribune, she expanded the distribution footprints of several magazines and led digital initiatives. And as general manager, she managed the P&L for one of the area's most important media outlets. Previously, she held advertising leadership positions with The Fresno Bee and The Modesto Bee.

“I have had the opportunity to know and work with the AMF Media Group San Luis Obispo team from a client perspective for several years,” said Vaz. “Joining the team in this new role is very exciting. AMF Media Group provides me with an opportunity to stay in the advertising field, continue to serve local businesses and work alongside people that I really respect and enjoy.”

Vaz is a graduate of Leadership San Luis Obispo Class 25. She serves as a board member for the YMCA of San Luis Obispo County and is chair of the YMCA San Luis Obispo Advisory Committee. She also volunteers with the South County Chambers of Commerce Marketing Committee and Arroyo Grande in Bloom.
