The Emerald Cup Announces Final Lineup for 2018 Cannabis Celebration

Redwood Stage to Feature Curated Lineup of DJs; Jay & Silent Bob to Record Live SModcast at the Cup

SANTA ROSA, Calif., Dec. 10, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- The Emerald Cup (the “Cup”) one of the cannabis industry’s premier culture and awards events, announced today the final updates to its lineup at the 15th annual cannabis celebration, taking place December 15 and 16 at the Sonoma County Fairgrounds in Santa Rosa, Calif.

In partnership with Northern Nights Music Festival, the Emerald Cup will feature a curated lineup of artists taking over the Redwood Stage, including Ardalan, hip hop artist and activist Xiuhtezcatl and British DJ and producer Breach.

Additional electronic musical acts on this stage include internationally-acclaimed tropical bass heavyweight Captain Planet, Oro11, Danny Corn, Violin Girl, a special Av8trix set back-to-back with Jason Burruss, as well as G.A.M.M.A., Arcata Soul Party Crew, Konnex, Green B, Christafari, M3RC, HΔM, and Roy Havens in a back-to-back set with The Schmidt.

Film icons Kevin Smith and Jason Mewes will do a live recording of their #1 ranked comedy SModcast, Jay & Silent Bob Get Old—a hilarious, sometimes touching look at what happens when two people grow up in Hollywood’s gaze by doing what they do best – tell stories.

This year’s Cup will be hosted by comedian, actor, producer and influential marijuana rights advocate Doug Benson, with co-host Ngaio Bealum, an American comedian, musician, writer, actor, activist, juggler and publisher. The Cup will also recognize Willie Nelson as the recipient of an honorary award, which will be given during a ceremony on Dec. 16 from 3pm to 4:30 pm.

“With the Cup just around the corner, this year’s lineup continues to expand into what has become a diverse group of highly respected musicians,” said Tim Blake, Founder and Producer of the Emerald Cup. “We’re also proud to welcome so many talented individuals joining our roster of speakers, glass artists and vendors, and hope that every single one of our festival attendees can take advantage of all the resources we’ve made available for both cannabis enthusiasts and newcomers alike.”

The Emerald Cup has grown into one of the largest, most influential cannabis events of the year and features a highly-curated experience for cannabis enthusiasts from around the world. Beyond its robust lineup of diverse musical acts, this year’s celebration will feature a variety of presentations from industry experts, artists and educators. Attendees will also have access to an array of exhibitors and retailers offering food, products and entertainment. The Cup will also continue its careful and elaborate judging process, which spans across multiple categories including flowers, concentrates, edibles, CO2 cartridges, topicals and a range of CBD categories.

Tickets are available for purchase through the Emerald Cup website, as well as ticket retailer Eventbrite. Weekend passes start at $140 and attendees must be over the age of 21. This year’s event will be a celebration of the new ways of thinking and living within cannabis culture.
