Please be informed that the Board of the Company on 10 December 2018 decided to terminate the exploitation of Unit 8 of Lithuanian Power Plant from 1 January 2019 and to put it into preservation mode. The Unit will be put to preservation mode in such way that:
i) Under the instruction of LITGRID AB and / or Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Lithuania it would be possible to put it into operation again expeditiously (within a period not exceeding three days), and/or
ii) The Unit could take part in the Baltic insulated work test (including preparation for the testing), and/or
iii) It would be possible to perform the required compulsory testing on the block.
The decision was made by the Board of the Company after having assessed the scope of services provided by Lithuanian Power Plant’s units in 2019, the market situation of electricity production and system services, changes in the regulatory environment and prospects. The Supervisory Board of the Company did not object to the decision of the Board of the Company to put the Unit 8 into preservation mode from 1 January 2019.
The same conditions apply to the Unit 7 of the Lithuanian Power Plant, the exploitation of which has been terminated by preserving it from 1 January 2018.
