LITTLE ROCK, Ark., Feb. 21, 2019 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Windstream (Nasdaq: WIN), a leading provider of advanced network communications and technology solutions, today announced that it completed its initiative to double the availability of 100 Mbps Kinetic Internet Service approximately six weeks ahead of schedule.
As a result, approximately 34 percent of households in local exchanges across Windstream’s 18-state footprint now qualify for 100 Mbps. When the initiative was announced Jan. 14, the company anticipated it could qualify 30 percent of households by the end of March. The work was completed in mid-February, six weeks early. The company expects approximately 40 percent of households will qualify for 100 Mbps by mid-year.
In addition, 50 percent of households now qualify for 50 Mbps, up from 40 percent of households at the end of 2018. Similarly, 64 percent of households now qualify for 25 Mbps, up from approximately 60 percent at the end of 2018.
