Endgame Earns Recommended Rating in NSS Labs 2019 Advanced Endpoint Protection Group Test

Achieves 100 percent block rate across four categories, showcasing strong security effectiveness with low TCO

ARLINGTON, Va., March 05, 2019 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Endgame, the leader in unified endpoint prevention, detection and response, today announced it achieved strong placement in the upper-right corner of the NSS Labs Advanced Endpoint Protection (AEP) Report Security Value Map. Endgame excelled with low total cost of ownership, high performance detection scores, and a ‘Recommended’ rating from NSS Labs.

Key findings of the report include:

  • Endgame blocked 100 percent of Offline Threats delivered and executed with no cloud or backend connectivity or support.
  • Endgame blocked 100 percent of never-before-seen Unknown Threats.
  • Endgame blocked 100 percent of Blended Threats, effectively distinguishing between malicious and legitimate activity.
  • Endgame blocked 100 percent of Evasion techniques used to bypass traditional antivirus.

Nearly all existing AV and NGAV rely on historical attack signatures and behaviors to serve as the basis for future detection. And, despite its diminishing effectiveness, a startling number of organizations still use antivirus software as their first, or only, line of defense. Endgame was built from the ground up to replace the shortcomings of legacy AV and NGAV systems while making detection and response as simple to use as antivirus.

“Endgame effectively replaced the legacy AV system that failed to give our leadership the level of visibility required, and the protection necessary to safeguard critical patient information and ensure compliance within our regulatory requirements. We chose Endgame because it was the only solution that provided both comprehensive visibility and full-stack protection across the breadth and depth of the MITRE ATT&CK™ matrix," said Matthew Witten, Chief Information Security Officer at Martin’s Point Health Care.

Using layered protections, behavioral analysis, and automated threat hunting to dynamically analyze all low-level processes running on the endpoint device, the platform predicts malicious behavior and stops attacks from spreading, so threats are detected before they can cause damage and loss.

“We are thrilled with our NSS Labs test results proving what our customers say regarding the power of Endgame’s prevention and our massive return on investment,” said Mike Nichols, VP of Product at Endgame. “Ultimately, customers invest in a security solution that increases efficiency, reduces costs, and maximizes its return. This report showcases how our unified endpoint prevention, detection and response platform performs in rigorous, real-world testing and validates what we hear from our customers regarding its capabilities to reduce operational burden while emphasizing security user experience, enabling us to put converged endpoint protection in the hands of both security teams and IT operations.”

Endgame implements a hybrid architecture consisting of a single host agent for prevention, detection and response, managed by a security operations tier, and backed by cloud-driven global services. Whether an endpoint is connected to the cloud or running in a distributed, offline environment, Endgame’s integrated interface is designed to streamline security operations workflows for prevention, incident response and hunt operations.

The NSS Labs Advanced Endpoint Protection (AEP) Test aimed to verify which advanced endpoint products are capable of detecting, preventing, and continuously logging threats accurately prior to, during, and after execution while remaining resistant to false positives. AEP products were tested for how effectively a product can protect against a threat, regardless of the infection vector or method of obfuscation.  The term “threat” is used within the NSS Labs test report to refer to malware, exploits, or blended threats that are capable of successfully accessing, downloading, and executing on a target system, with or without subsequent post-infection compromise and/or outbound communication attempts.
