(OTCBB:SXCR), a Houston-based Ambulatory Surgical Center (ASC) provider, announced today that it has appointed Tony Rotondo as its Director of Operations. Mr. Rotondo will immediately assume responsibility for the oversight of SurgiCare's operations at all of the company's centers. In addition to the oversight of the center's day to day operations, his duties will include increasing the centers' operating efficiencies and physician utilization in an effort to yield further internal growth. Mr. Rotondo has more than 10 years of senior management expertise in the healthcare industry.
Prior to joining SurgiCare, Mr. Rotondo had been the Regional Operations Officer for Physicians Surgical Care Inc., since June of 1999. Earlier, he served as Regional Director of Operations for National Surgery Centers (NSC) since 1997. At NSC, Mr. Rotondo's responsibilities included overseeing NSC's Texas-based ambulatory surgical centers.
From 1994 to 1997, Mr. Rotondo implemented and managed wound healing and diabetes centers for Vivra Health Advantage in the general Houston area (Colombia/HCA facilities). Earlier from 1994, he served as Area Manager, Business Development for the Texas Back Institute, Inc. From 1990 to 1991, Mr. Rotondo was Director of Marketing for Advanced Rehabilitation, Inc. in Houston, Texas. Mr. Rotondo graduated with an MBA from the University of St. Thomas.
