LINKOPING, Sweden, Oct. 10, 2002 (PRIMEZONE) -- AerotechTelub has received two orders from the Defence Materiel Administration for maintenance equipment for the JAS 39 Gripen. The delivery of the equipment will take place successively with the final delivery during 2004.
The orders include both development of new maintenance equipment and supplements to already existing maintenance equipment for the mechanics and electronics in the aircraft. AerotechTelub has developed advanced automatic test equipment for the testing of different complex systems. This test equipment means that functional tests can be carried out with high security and that the turnaround times for systems on service can be kept short.
The Gripen has a high development potential and is continually developed in order to meet new requirements. Examples of such requirements are the ability to operate internationally in peacekeeping missions. New operational capabilities mean new or modified systems in the aircraft and thereby new requirements for maintenance equipment.
The work on the maintenance equipment will be conducted in Arboga and Linkoping.
