HARRISBURG, Pa., Aug. 25, 2004 (PRIMEZONE) -- The Pennsylvania Chamber of Business and Industry will hold its 20th Annual Chamber Dinner on Monday, Sept. 27 at the Hershey Lodge and Convention Center.
This year's event takes on a celebratory tone as it marks the 20th anniversary of Pennsylvania's premier gathering of business and community leaders, and local, state and national elected officials. The "evening of political wit and wisdom" features Sen. Bob Dole, who will deliver the keynote address.
"Since the first dinner in 1985, a remarkable caliber of guest speakers has added a unique perspective to the event," said Floyd Warner, President of the PA Chamber. "We are pleased to welcome one of the nation's most prominent political figures of the 20th century. Senator Dole's wonderfully dry humor, poignant stories and wise insights, all of which have been shaped by a lifetime of service to our country, are sure to add to what will be a festive and memorable evening."
Warner said with Pennsylvania promising to be a pivotal state in this year's presidential election, the PA Chamber expects to welcome more state and national legislative leaders this year than ever before. A special invitation has been sent to President George W. Bush.
The program will also feature appearances by the Pennsylvania Academy of Music's Children's Choir and the Philadelphia Mummers All-Stars; and will include an entertaining retrospective celebrating 20 years of the Chamber Dinner, and a few more noteworthy surprises.
"One night each September, the spotlight shines brightly on Pennsylvania's business leaders and the local communities, distinguished Pennsylvanians and elected officials that have contributed to the revitalization of our Commonwealth," Warner said. "On this, the 20th anniversary of the Chamber Dinner, we take the opportunity to reflect on the past, revel in the present and anticipate a bright future for the Commonwealth through an invigorated business community."
Warner said there still is time to make reservations. PA Chamber members, as well as non-members, who have not yet reserved seats for the dinner may do so by visiting the PA Chamber's website at www.pachamber.org or emailing lbelding@pachamber.org.
Media coverage is welcome.
