WEST ALLIS, Wis., July 3, 2007 (PRIME NEWSWIRE) -- Prints.Com and The Greenwich Workshop(r), Inc. are proud to announce that Bev Doolittle(r) will be appearing in person at the Prints.Com Gallery, 1330 South 108, West Allis, WI on Saturday, July 21. Come see Bev's latest artwork, Beyond Negotiations, and join her for discussion during the gallery's artist reception on Saturday from 1:00-4:00 pm.
Returning after an 8 year hiatus, Bev is back with Beyond Negotiations, her first ever acrylic on canvas. The piece began its life as a stone lithograph, but when Bev saw her sketch enlarged, she knew these warriors were destined to become a big painting. At 6 feet long, Beyond Negotiations is "bursting at the seams and emphasizes the immediacy of the warriors' obvious negative response to the last proposal," says Doolittle. "Beyond Negotiations is one of a few action pieces that I've created," she adds. "I had a lot of fun with gestures, facial expressions and creating a sense of depth and dust. Containing the charging Crow Indians within a long horizontal border was not an option. This image sums up the results of all the negotiations leading up to the present moment (whatever they may have been!)."
Collectors have responded so strongly to Bev's return that The Greenwich Workshop(r) announced it has sold out its 350-unit MuseumEdition of Bev's new canvas in its original 72" x 26" size and has received substantial orders for its 3,750-unit MasterworkEdition, sized at 44" x 16." Both editions will be personally signed by the artist and are priced at $2,950 US -- $3,500 CDN and $795 US -- $950 CDN, respectively.
Bev Doolittle is a fine art phenomenon in the limited edition print world where her editions and sell-out rate are unparalleled in the industry. Widely considered to be the best selling artist in print, Doolittle's appeal crosses many strata of society, from bikers to librarians and those in between. In the absence of an active print program, Doolittle's appeal has not waned; The Art of Bev Doolittle has sold more than half a million copies since it was published in 1990, and sales of Doolittle calendars total $150,000 per year.
The Greenwich Workshop has exclusive rights to distribute Beyond Negotiations, Doolittle's first-ever release on canvas (fine art giclee) and the first new full color limited edition release since The Earth is My Mother in 1999.
