TEMECULA, Calif., July 20, 2007 (PRIME NEWSWIRE) -- Keyways Vineyard & Winery announced it will donate a portion of the sales from a new line of wines for women to the Women's Business Center of California, a non-profit group based in San Diego that assists women entrepreneurs.
Keyways, the first woman-owned winery in Temecula, recently released First Crush 2006 Rose of Syrah ($19). It is the first in a line of Femina Vita (Life of a Woman) wines for women whose labels feature the original artwork of Jessel Miller of Napa Valley.
"As an entrepreneur, I want to support what the Women's Business Center of California is doing for businesswomen," said Terri Pebley, Keyways owner. "What better way to further the aspirations of female entrepreneurs than through the sale of wines for women from the only woman-owned winery in Southern California."
Pebley, a math major turned CPA and attorney, also owns a successful commercial real estate business. After acquiring Keyways about three years ago, she oversaw a $1.5 million makeover of the winery and tasting room that has transformed Keyways into a comfortable and entertaining place for wine lovers to gather in what she calls the "Romantic Side" of Temecula's Wine Country.
"It's nice to see a successful business person like Terri give back to others," said Michelle Butler, president and co-founder of the Women's Business Center of California, which assisted 3,700 entrepreneurs last year. "That's really special and exciting."
The Women's Business Center of California (WBCC) assists entrepreneurs, both male and female, who want to start, expand or enhance small businesses in San Diego County. As part of this new partnership, Keyways wines will be featured at the center's annual Small Business Services Expo & Awards Luncheon to be held at the Town and Country Convention Center in San Diego on Sept. 18, 2007.
This weekend more than 30 female artisans and exhibitors will help Keyways celebrate the launch of its new line of wines for women at The Femina Vita Festival on July 21-22 from 10 am to 5 pm.
Along with food and wine, the two-day festival at the winery will include hourly raffles, music, wine tasting and exhibitions of female artwork and accomplishment.
Keyways sits on about 13 acres at the confluence of the 2,000-acre Valle de los Caballos -- Valley of the Horses -- and the southern tier of Temecula's Wine Country. From the 15 freeway, head out Highway 79 South toward Indio, turn left on Anza Road and right on DePortola Road for about 2 miles. The Femina Vita line of wines and other award-winning Keyways wines are available at the winery's tasting room at 37338 DePortola Road and at www.KeywaysWine.com
