Kirbyville, Texas Police Department Begins Utilizing COPsync Software

Kirbyville Joins the Nation's Largest Network of Law Enforcement Agencies Sharing Critical Incident Data in Real-Time at the Point of Incident

CANYON LAKE, Texas, Jan. 14, 2010 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- COPsync, Inc. (OTCBB:COYN), a software technology provider to law enforcement and emergency service professionals, announced today that the Company has recently installed its real-time information sharing software in Kirbyville, Texas patrol cars. The installation is part of a four year software licensing agreement between the City of Kirbyville, Texas Police Department and COPsync.

Kirbyville Police Chief, Jeff Clopp, said, "As recently as last night we encountered an incident where a man had committed serious offenses across multiple jurisdictions. Had the COPsync software been available to each of those agencies involved in the incidents, the predator would not have continued to commit crimes in each location. With the COPsync information sharing capability, Kirbyville PD and other surrounding agencies will have the ability to preempt reoccurring incidents by predators in a real-time manner and we will have all the information required at the point of incident, including suspect history. This COPsync technology is long overdue within the Law Enforcement community and will greatly enhance our ability to gather historical information on suspects. Further, through our ability to electronically create reports, manual processes will be eliminated. COPsync will significantly increase our department effectiveness and efficiency by 25%-35%."

The COPsync software is the first and only integrated software product that provides a real-time in-car, nationwide information-sharing network for law enforcement officers. Via a laptop computer or hand-held device, the user is able to immediately identify criminals, communicate with other officers, and access life saving and mission critical information. Additionally, the software includes data collection interfaces designed to expedite the paperwork process to allow officers to do their job more efficiently. The technology assists in all of the activities that an officer can expect to encounter while on duty, in a simple format and at the touch of a button, allowing officers to spend more time on the street instead of behind a desk completing paperwork.

COPsync, Inc. CEO, Russell Chaney, said, "We are pleased to announce that the Kirbyville Police Department has joined our information sharing network. Our platform provides officers with important technology tools that enable them to be more productive and effective while increasing their safety. COPsync's technology advantage is the fact that all subscribers see each other's data in real time at the point of incident. The days where the criminals had the upper hand just by leaving a jurisdiction is gone. The COPsync team continues to experience encouraging response and feedback from agencies currently utilizing our network, and we continue to see the pipeline of agencies interested in COPsync grow."
