Virtual Instruments' Record-Breaking Growth Shows Importance of Virtual Infrastructure Optimization Solutions

VirtualWisdom Sales More Than Triple Over Same Period Last Year

SAN JOSE, CA--(Marketwire - Jul 12, 2011) - Virtual Instruments, the leader in storage area network (SAN) and virtual infrastructure optimization solutions, today announced the company's sales grew by over 200% in its recently completed 2011 fiscal year. The record-breaking results were due to strong demand for the VirtualWisdom real-time monitoring solution and the SANInsight Fiber-optic TAP Patch Panel systems, which together give customers the ability to measure, analyze and optimize the performance, availability, and utilization of SANs and virtualized infrastructure.

During the last six months, Virtual Instruments has continued to expand its market reach, with sales to new Global 500 customers more than doubling versus the same period last year. Some of the new customers relying on VirtualWisdom include: two very large US-based retailers, two major insurance companies, two national stock exchanges, a leading European telecommunications provider, a large US-based transportation services provider, and three global financial services firms.

While Virtual Instruments added new customers at a rapid pace, the company has nearly doubled the number of full-time employees, including the recent hiring of a new Chief Financial Officer, George Harrington, and a new European sales leader, Jason Tooley.

Since January 2011, the company has garnered four significant industry awards that are further validations of the benefits of Virtual Instruments virtual infrastructure optimization solutions. These include the recent inclusion of the company in the Red Herring 2011 Top 100 North America list, which recognizes the 100 most innovative privately-held companies across North America. In February, Storage Magazine and SearchStorage.com awarded Virtual Instruments' SANInsight TAP Patch Panel System "Product of the Year" in the category of Storage Networking Equipment. Data Center Solutions Magazine recognized Virtual Instruments' customer, Unilever, as having the "Enterprise Project of the Year" for the success of their SAN consolidation and optimization initiative based on their implementation of the Virtual Instruments' VirtualWisdom solution.

"We are ecstatic that so many Global 500 enterprises have turned to Virtual Instruments to help control capital and operating costs associated with their ever-expanding data centers," said John W. Thompson, CEO at Virtual Instruments. "VirtualWisdom is rapidly becoming an essential performance and availability optimization solution as larger enterprises more aggressively deploy virtualization and migrate to private cloud environments."
