Fort Worth, Texas, Aug. 2, 2012 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- FTS International (FTSI), a provider of well completion services for the oil and gas industry, has been granted the PEC Premier SafeLandUSA certificate of accreditation for the company's in-house safety training program.
To date, only one other oil and gas company in the United States has attained this accreditation for in-house training, according to PEC Premier SafeLandUSA, which audited and assessed FTSI's New Team Member Training curriculum, training materials, instructor qualifications and record-keeping functions. FTSI's training program also meets the American Petroleum Institute's safety requirements for topics employees need to know before entering a company facility or before performing assigned work duties.
More than 25 of the leading oil and gas operators accept or require SafeLandUSA training to meet regulatory and contractual requirements. Service and operating companies often send employees to third-party trainers to meet these requirements. However, FTSI opted to seek accreditation for its own, in-house safety training program so the training could be better tailored to the needs of the company's workforce and its customers.
"We are extremely pleased to receive this accreditation and proud of our training staff for putting this program together," said FTSI Chief Executive Officer Marc Rowland.
