One of the most impressive results was the unit's reliability for use indoors and at night, both conditions that prevent genset or gas powered electrical generators from being trusted sources of electrical power.

Over the past 12 months the Solar Survivor was tested in real world conditions, including indoors and in various conditions and scenarios of temperature, altitude, humidity, and use in motor homes, at several Southern California beaches and various locations in the San Gabriel and San Gorgonio mountains, and in the Mojave Desert. Testing also included spontaneous use during residential grid failures during which its performance again exceeded all expectations.
