LAKE ELSINORE, CA--(Marketwire - Mar 13, 2013) - IDS Solar Technologies (
Over the past 12 months the Solar Survivor was tested in real world conditions, including indoors and in various conditions and scenarios of temperature, altitude, humidity, and use in motor homes, at several Southern California beaches and various locations in the San Gabriel and San Gorgonio mountains, and in the Mojave Desert. Testing also included spontaneous use during residential grid failures during which its performance again exceeded all expectations. The Solar Survivor was used to provide uninterrupted outdoor power for cell phones, radios and lights while indoor electricity was provided for cell phones, radio, TV and DVD player, lights, fan, and heating plates.
During an electrical power outage in Southern California, the Survivor was put to the test and delivered 6 1/2 hours of power to a refrigerator with no loss or spoilage of food. The presence of the Survivor also allowed neighbors to charge their cell phones when they had no other source of power. "With the Survivor we had a bit more peace of mind. Since using the Survivor for the past year I can't understand why everyone would not want a Survivor in their home," said Tim S., one of the participants in the testing program.
