SINGAPORE--(Marketwired - October 13, 2016) - The Open Mobile Alliance (OMA) today announced the final agenda for its developer focused Internet of Things (IoT) seminar/webinar entitled, "How Developers Can Get the Most Out of IoT Standards and Tools", which will be held Wednesday, October 26, 2016 at the Grand Copthorne Waterfront Hotel Singapore. Presented in conjunction with IoTSG, this developer-focused event will provide an overview of industry standards and tools that are enabling interoperability and market growth in the Internet of Things. International and local speakers will share valuable insights for developers active in IoT. Registration is open for both the on site seminar and the free online webinar.
The agenda will highlight tools and open standards such as OMA's LightweightM2M that developers can use to help them deliver products and services for IoT. In addition to previously announced speakers from Nokia, Sierra Wireless, IOTEROP, Movimento, Bosch, MDS and Microsoft, Pilgrim Beart, CEO of DevicePilot and Duncan Purves, Co-Founder of Connect2 Systems, will present a joint demo. The presentation will include video footage of their vision for the future of IoT highlighting the need for standardized solutions to ensure interoperability. Live demos of IoT standards-based solutions from Nokia, MDS, Movimento and IOTEROP will be on display during the networking reception.
C K Vishwakarma, Founder of IoTSG, will moderate the event. Based in Singapore, IoTSG is the most active and the largest Internet of Things Community in South East Asia. It is founded and managed by senior IoT professionals in the industry. IoTSG aims to build a strong and a collaborative IoT Ecosystem in the region. IoTSG works closely with industries and institutions to bring them closer to the professional community by organizing regular panel discussions, focus groups, tech talks and networking sessions, to accelerate the IoT adoption in various industries.
"Interoperability is one of the biggest challenges to address in the IoT Ecosystem," said Vishwakarma. "IoT is not a technology, but a concept where anything will communicate, anytime, anyplace, and it will be driven by organizations who are leading efforts towards openness. Organizations should collaborate and support initiatives driven by the Open Mobile Alliance."
The seminar will begin with a networking reception at 5PM where members of the local developer community will have the chance to meet the event speakers and members of the OMA Board of Directors and Technical Plenary. The webinar and speaker presentations will begin at 5:45 PM and will run until 8:30 PM.
