Zaandam, The Netherlands, August 29, 2000 – Royal Ahold, the international food provider,
has appointed Jan Pieter Herweijer Senior Vice President Information Systems and Technology (IS & T), effective September 1, 2000. In this position he will advise the Corporate Executive Board in strategic IS & T decisions and support Chief Information Officers (CIO’s) at Ahold operating companies and joint venture partners.
Jan Pieter Herweijer (50) brings to Ahold considerable expertise. He has been in senior
IT management positions at General Electric, IBM, Getronics, AKZO and Origin International.
At Ahold he reports to Michael Meurs, Chief Financial Officer and member of the Corporate Executive Board.
