Neoware Does its Part to Help Those Impacted by the Tragic Events of September 11

No-Cost Loaner Equipment Lets Customers Resume Business Operations

KING OF PRUSSIA, Pa., Sept. 19, 2001 (PRIMEZONE) -- Neoware Systems (Nasdaq:NWRE), the leading supplier of award-winning software and solutions for the emerging Appliance Computing market, today announced that the company is offering no-cost loaner equipment to its customers impacted by the tragedies in New York, Washington, D.C. and Pennsylvania.

In the aftermath of the events that took place on September 11, 2001, Neoware has instituted a program to loan thin client appliances to Neoware customers whose businesses have been affected. Taking top priority are customers in the Manhattan area who are relocating to alternate office space and are unable to salvage their desktop equipment. Neoware's products will enable these customers to quickly resume business operations.

"The tragic events of last week are affecting all of us," stated Michael Kantrowitz, president and CEO of Neoware Systems, "and we wanted to take every opportunity to help. Neoware has made a corporate donation to the Red Cross to aid in relief efforts, and we encourage other businesses to do the same. In addition, we are offering Neoware's products at no charge, for an extended period, to our customers that have been displaced, allowing them to do business. We encourage everyone to help wherever they can."

Neoware's Capio and Eon products are thin client appliances that are cost-effective alternatives to personal computers used by businesses, and powerful replacements for green-screen terminals. Used in conjunction with Citrix or Microsoft Terminal Services, Neoware's Capio and Eon computing appliances allow users to run virtually any application from a server, plus connect to mainframes, midrange systems and the Internet. Unlike personal computers, Neoware's thin client appliances can be centrally managed and remotely configured, which greatly simplifies administration. Because of this, thin client appliances can save up to 80 percent of the total cost of ownership of networked personal computers, resulting in significant cost savings for enterprise customers and fueling growth in the thin client market.

Donations can be made to the Red Cross at www.redcross.org.
