Sika takes over Armorex


Sika AG, Baar, Switzerland,  announced today that its UK subsidiary Sika Ltd, Welwyn Garden City, had acquired the assets of the Armorex Group, based in Lavenham, UK.
 
The business will now operate as Sika-Armorex – the flooring division of Sika Ltd, UK.
 
Armorex manufactures dry shake flooring finishes, pumped cemetitious floor screeds and resin toppings. The annual turnover (May 2001 to May 2002) was £ 2.7 m, respectively CHF 6.4 m. The number of Armorex employees taken over by Sika amounts to 24.
 
The Armorex range strengthens Sika’s offering on flooring products and gives it a leading market position in the UK.
 
Production will be based at Armorex’s UK manufacturing base at Lavenham, East Anglia, and will be marketed by Sika companies.

Dry shake flooring finishes are laid monolithically on new concrete floors giving a hardened, coloured dust free surface.
 
Pumped cementitious floor screeds are polymer based and non-polymer based toppings, underlays or underlayments for floors. 
 
Lavenham is located near Bury St Edmunds in the county of Suffolk in England.
