GOTEBORG, Sweden, Feb. 3, 2003 (PRIMEZONE) -- Peter Wassberg has been appointed head of Strategic Planning at Volvo Truck Corporation. Wassberg will in his new position also be a member of the Executive Management Team for the company. He will replace Claes Nilsson who will be responsible for the implementation of Volvo Trucks' new distribution strategy in Europe.
Peter Wassberg comes from a position at Manpower AB as regional manager for the business area techpower. Wassberg has a wide experience from the transport industry. He has been working with Scania c for many years where he has held several senior positions within product development, product design and marketing.
Wassberg will be responsible for strategic planning and business development, which includes the company's business planning process, product strategies, business intelligence, safety management and strategic projects. Wassberg will take up his new position on march 1, 2003.
