Immediatek Will Host The Smithereens' Pat DiNizio and National Recording Artist Advocates at SXSW Music Festival to Rally Artists and The Music Industry to 'Burn Music. Not Artists' with Debut of NetBurn

Immediatek's NetBurn(TM) Portal System, NetBurn Secure(TM) and New Digital Record Label will be exhibited

RICHARDSON, Texas, March 18, 2004 (PRIMEZONE) -- Immediatek (OTCBB:ITEK) (www.immediatek.com) -- a publicly held company headed by Dallas technology innovator, musician and CEO Zach Bair -- will be joined at South by Southwest Music Festival by The Smithereens' Pat DiNizio and other national recording artists to exhibit the company's groundbreaking solution for combating music piracy on the Internet and putting control back in the artists' hands -- for all artists -- from independent and major label acts to songwriters and publishers.

From March 18-20, 2004, in the Austin Convention Center (500 East Cesar Chavez Street, 78701, 512-404-4000, Booth D15 and D16) at the 18th Annual SXSW Music Festival in Austin, Texas, Immediatek will showcase NetBurn(TM) and NetBurn Secure(TM) (www.netburncd.com) offering artists, record labels, distributors, and online music retailers a one-button solution which can securely burn an entire CD of music in just one click directly to CD-R that is usable on any electronic device on the market. The 2004 SXSW Music Festival trade show will be one of many events occurring to celebrate the product's rollout.

NetBurn's software platform will be demonstrated at SXSW by Zach Bair and advocate Pat DiNizio, solo artist and frontman of The Smithereens, who is recording and releasing an upcoming CD exclusively on the NetBurn Portal System and Immediatek's as-yet-unnamed record label in Dallas the week of SXSW. The NetBurn Portal System allows an independent artist or any artist for that matter to issue a recording worldwide within minutes of completing the recording with the best protection against online music piracy available. Pat DiNizio, famous for his rabid cult following of fans and his "Living Room Concerts" and "Patrons and Artists Together" program, thinks this is a good solution that gives artists control, the ability to get noticed by labels, much needed copyright protection over a broad range of mediums, and the ability to connect with their fans in a new way.

The NetBurn Portal System creates a shopping cart that resembles the artist's web site and blends into it seamlessly while being powered by Immediatek's back-end system. Immediatek shares the revenue on the back-end with the artist and cuts checks to them monthly. Fans can support artists through the "Artist Affiliate" program. The fan can place a portal link on their web site and earn revenue along with the artist when the music is burned. That means if someone buys an artist's digital music on the fan's site, the fan earns revenue. All sales are tracked by Nielsen SoundScan. NetBurn will also offer its music through publicly accessible music burning kiosks called NetBurn Stations. Don Henley recently advocated to artists that they must take this issue of piracy to Washington D.C. in a recent Washington Post article.

"Education, legislation and technology are the keys to changing our current situation," said Bair. "This is a solution for right now that allows artists to maintain control over their career and revenue in a protected fashion with their fans."

Immediatek is announcing and sponsoring the following events during its rollout in Austin and Dallas the week of March 15, 2004:

Wednesday, March 17 and Thursday, March 18, legendary frontman of The Smithereens Pat DiNizio will record his solo project with the band No Control, led by Immediatek CEO Zach Bair, and special guests at MaxiMedia Studios in Dallas.
