HAMILTON, Bermuda, Aug. 15, 2005 (PRIMEZONE) -- The Board of SeaDrill is pleased to inform that the Company has completed a private placement of 12 million shares at USD 9.00 per share.
The proceeds from the offering of USD 108 million will mainly be used as equity finance in the second ultra deep water semi submersible drilling rig which the Company has signed with Jurong Shipyard.
Total number of shares in SeaDrill Ltd. after the issue is 220,039,762.
The transaction was significantly oversubscribed with a book covered almost seven times. The shares were placed by Carnegie ASA and Pareto Securities ASA.
