Semcon Expands its Business in China

GOTEBORG, Sweden, Sept. 5, 2005 (PRIMEZONE) -- Semcon continues to expand in China through opening an office in Beijing, as the Informatic business area develops its activities in the telecom sector.

"Establishing in Beijing is being done first of all to meet our customers' demands for efficient business offers on the Chinese market and aftermarket," reports Lars-Inge Sjoquist, President of Semcon Informatic. Together with the start-ups in the U.K. and Hungary, the new office in China reinforces Semcon's strategic moves to grow internationally.

"Expansion in Asia is part of Semcon's strategy to be located near our customers' development centres. Opening up in China will also give us a positive cost base in the future and it will enable us to improve the overall efficiency of our business offer," says Group President Hans Johansson.
