Zooma by Semcon Wins Award for www.salmingsports.com


GOTEBORG, Sweden, Sept. 13, 2005 (PRIMEZONE) -- Zooma by Semcon has received the Outstanding Website award for its design and development of the Salming Sports website. Zooma both designed and produced the creative website concept. The award, established in 1997, is issued annually by the Web Marketing Association in the USA.

Intensified collaboration

Zooma was first commissioned to design and produce Salming Sports' website in 2003. When it came time to update the site to attract a younger target group and add a web shop, Zooma was again entrusted with the assignment. Zooma prepared the concept and design and produced the new Salmingsports.com website. "Marketing on the internet and providing a brand-related experience is becoming increasingly more important," says Anders Bjorklund, CEO of Zooma by Semcon. "Plus, it's great that Salming Sport is willing to sell some of its products on the internet. The solution makes it much easier to measure campaign outcomes. We are really pleased about this recognition of our work," concludes Anders.

Salming Sport started collaborating with Semcon in 2002 when Semcon was commissioned to develop the blade of the market's most lightweight, technically advanced floorball stick. Last year, Semcon's design and product development expertise contributed to developing the blade platform for an entire range of sticks.

The Web Marketing Association (WMA) was founded in 1997 to help set a higher standard for Internet marketing and corporate web development. The organisation is made up of marketing, advertising, PR, and design professionals. This is the ninth year WMA organises its annual WebAwards, a competition now considered one of the industry's most prominent.
