In 2004 the business unit Sucoflex generated sales of approximately CHF 21 million. Located in Pfäffikon, in the canton of Zurich, the business unit manufactures and sells building waterproofing products, including sealing strips for facades, joints and wet rooms, as well as high-quality roofing membranes.
Sika CEO Ernst Bärtschi stated that "the acquisition complements Sika's product portfolio and increases manufacturing flexibility of roofing membranes in general and specialty products in particular."
HUBER+SUHNER CEO Urs Kaufmann added that "the sale to Sika provides the business unit Sucoflex with the best chance for continued profitable growth. The former business unit will be a part of Sika's core business and benefit from economy of scale in purchasing and a distribution network of global scale."
