Classmates.com 2006 Romance Poll Results Revealed for Valentine's Day; Most People Thought of Their First Love in the Past Year


RENTON, Wash., Jan. 25, 2006 (PRIMEZONE) -- Remember that guy or girl from high school, the one you dated or had a huge crush on? You are not alone. Classmates.com (www.classmates.com), a leader in online social networking, polled its community that connects millions of members with friends and acquaintances from school, work and the military and found that when people reflect on their love life, more than 70% think about their first love or high school sweetheart. The majority of respondents of the annual Classmates.com Romance Poll also said they have thought of their first love or high school sweetheart within the last year.

Classmates.com 2006 Romance Poll results include:


 -- 71% of respondents think more people will turn to the Internet to
    find love in 2006.
 -- 70% of respondents reflect on their first love or high school
    sweetheart when thinking about their love life.
 -- 54% of respondents thought of their first love or high school
    sweetheart in the last year.
 -- 50% of respondents said they would like to be contacted by an old
    flame.
 -- 30% of respondents said they have been contacted by an old flame
    in the past five years.
 -- 29% of respondents had used the Internet to look up or reconnect
    with an old boyfriend or girlfriend.
 -- 29% of respondents had met their true love in school (K-12).
 -- 31% of respondents think Valentine's Day is a time to think about
    loved ones.
