StockPickReport Commentary -- April 06, 2006

Commodity Excitement. Well, that's one of the steps on the ladder to Commodty Euphoria. For years this commodity rally was under the radar. Now, if you can believe it, it is STILL under the radar. Even though commodity stocks keep going up, your neighbor doesn't own many commodity stocks. It will take many more rallies for your neighbor to finally buy stocks like BHP Billiton or Suncor.

So, today I want to alert you to another pick I talked about a few weeks ago:

Canadian Oil Sands Trust. You can't buy it on New York, but I tell you how at the end of this article.

Well this analysis took me a while, so please take a look:

Suncor vs. Canadian Oil Sands Trust

Canadian Oil Sands Trust is Suncor's biggest competitor in the Alberta Oil Sands.

The two seem to be very similar in what they are producing now, and future forecasts. However, COS says "post-2015" in their outlook below. Suncor is ahead of them on the timetable on what they'll produce. But Suncor's market cap is more than double COS's and P/E is almost double. I would prefer price to sales to compare each, but I can't get P/S for COS. I think part of that valuation is SU being listed on NYSE and the closer they are to their goal and perhaps it being one company rather than many interests as Canadian Oil Sands is.

Before I even worked for StockPickReport I wrote a letter to prospective members with a free trial to my site. I told them to buy Canadian Oil Sands. It is up about 100% since then.

Part 2 Continues in our next release...
