Delta Adds Jacksonville, N.C. to Growing List of Markets Served From World's Largest Single-Airline Hub

Special introductory fares offered for new nonstop service

JACKSONVILLE, N.C., Aug. 22, 2006 (PRIMEZONE) -- Delta -- the only U.S. airline to serve all 50 states -- will add Jacksonville, N.C. to its expanding network this winter, giving customers convenient access to Delta's largest hub in Atlanta. Beginning Dec. 11, 2006, customers in Jacksonville, home to the U.S. Marine Corps Base at Camp Lejeune, will have access to two daily nonstop flights to Atlanta, with connecting opportunities to more than 180 destinations worldwide.

"As we continue to expand the number of domestic destinations we serve, Delta is pleased to offer nonstop service between our flagship hub in Atlanta and our ninth destination in North Carolina," said Bob Cortelyou, Delta's vice president -- Network Planning. "Customers in Jacksonville will enjoy the excellent service offered on board the quiet, comfortable Bombardier regional jet, including two-by-two all-leather seating."

With the new service, Delta will offer North Carolina customers 99 daily departures to its hubs and focus cities, including nonstop service from Raleigh-Durham, Fayetteville, Asheville, Kinston, Wilmington, Charlotte, Pinehurst, Greensboro/High Point/Winston-Salem and Jacksonville.

Delta's new flights between Jacksonville and Atlanta will be operated by Delta Connection carrier Atlantic Southeast Airlines using 40-seat regional jets. These quiet, comfortable aircraft feature an all-leather interior and two-by-two seating in which every seat is a window or an aisle.
