Rotterdam, 11 December, 2006

PRESS RELEASE

Robeco signs UN's Principles for Responsible Investment

Robeco announced today that it has signed the UN's Principles for Responsible Investment (PRI).

Robeco has the view that environmental, social and corporate governance (ESG) issues affect the [long term] performance of investment portfolios. The Principles for Responsible Investment provides a framework to incorporate these issues into traditional investment portfolios.

The Principles are voluntary and aspirational. They are not prescriptive, but instead provide a menu of possible actions for incorporating ESG issues into mainstream investment decision-making and ownership practices.

Signing represents a very real commitment to the Principles, demonstrating support from the top-level leadership of Robeco's whole investment business. Moreover, applying the Principles should not only lead to better long-term financial returns but also a closer alignment between the objectives of institutional investors and those of society at large.

Commenting on its commitment, George Möller, CEO of Robeco said: "We are confident that the integration of sustainability, as a governing principle in mainstream asset management, will become a dominant theme in global asset management. The Principles provide a good framework towards further integration of these issues into traditional investment portfolio."
