Flights to Atlanta give New Bern customers access to more than 240 destinations across the globe

NEW BERN, N.C., Jan. 31, 2007 (PRIME NEWSWIRE) -- Customers in the Crystal Coast communities of North Carolina soon will be one stop from the world with the addition of new flights between New Bern, N.C. and Atlanta, effective May 6, 2007. Delta Connection carrier Atlantic Southeast Airlines will operate two daily nonstop round-trip flights between the Eastern North Carolina city and Delta's flagship hub in Atlanta, where customers can connect to 416 peak-day departures.

"Delta is pleased to bring the comfort and convenience of regional jet service to customers in New Bern and surrounding communities," said Bob Cortelyou, Delta's vice president -- Network Planning. "We appreciate the initial support received from the Craven County Airport Authority and look forward to continued support from New Bern customers, which will ensure the success of this service for years to come."

With the new service, Delta will offer North Carolina customers 94 peak-day departures to its hubs and focus cities, including nonstop service from Raleigh-Durham, Fayetteville, Asheville, Wilmington, Charlotte, Pinehurst, Greensboro/High Point/Winston-Salem, Jacksonville and now New Bern.

"The Craven County Regional Airport Authority is very pleased to welcome Delta Air Lines and the additional service it provides North Carolina's Crystal Coast communities," said Jim Creech, Airport Authority chairman. "Area travelers and businesses have indicated a desire for even greater air service opportunities -- more destinations, more jets and more airlines. Our new partnership with Delta Air Lines fulfills those desires and the Authority looks forward to a long and flourishing partnership with the carrier."

Creech continued, "The Authority extends a special thank you to the N.C. Department of Transportation's Division of Aviation, specifically Bill Williams, Ted Alman and Dave Thomas, for their advice and support. They've been instrumental in helping us enhance Eastern North Carolina air service and in meeting the travel needs of our growing communities."

Delta's new flights between New Bern and Atlanta will be operated using 40-seat Bombardier regional jets. These quiet, comfortable aircraft feature an all-leather interior and two-by-two seating in which every seat is a window or an aisle.
