'And They're Off!' Delta Jets Bring Racing Fans to Louisville With Special Flights for Kentucky Derby

Additional capacity from Atlanta, Cincinnati, plus new nonstop service from New York, helps customers celebrate first leg of Triple Crown

LOUISVILLE, Ky., Feb. 7, 2007 (PRIME NEWSWIRE) -- Delta Air Lines will offer customers more than 5,900 additional seats between Louisville and its hubs in Atlanta, Cincinnati and New York in celebration of the 133rd annual Kentucky Derby. Between May 3 and 6, Delta will add flights and upgrade some regional jet aircraft to 142-seat MD-88 and 150-seat Boeing 737-800 aircraft flying between Louisville and Atlanta and Cincinnati, while adding daily regional jet service from New York's LaGuardia and Kennedy airports -- just in time to don a Derby hat and savor mint juleps.

"The first jewel in the Triple Crown, the Kentucky Derby is a true American tradition and we are excited to offer our customers convenient service to Louisville so they may enjoy all of the festivities and grand traditions that surround 'the greatest two minutes in sports,'" said Bob Cortelyou, Delta vice president of Network Planning.
