IN 2006 JSC “STABURADZE” EXPANDS PRODUCTION OF THE MOST PURCHASED COOKIES IN THE BALTICS


RIGA, 30 April 2007 - The audited turnover of JSC “Staburadze” for 2006 has reached 8,3 million lats, which is nearly 2% more than 8,15 million lats turnover in 2005. At the same time due to increasing production costs, gross profit of the company has decreased from 1.8 million lats in 2005 to 1.5 million lats in 2006. The company concluded the year with the profit of 341 thousand lats. 

“In 2006 we focused on modernization of technological processes and optimization of production and sales. New products have been created, the healthy product line “Selga Delicate” has been introduced. We're working for “Selga” to hold its position of the most purchased cookies in the Baltic States,” tells Normunds Ozoliņš, chairman of the board of JSC “Staburadze”.

“We're having a successful cooperation with the Poland's “Lider Artur”, were several types of “Staburadze” brand biscuits are produced following Latvian recipes and under the guidance of Latvian experts. Collaboration between “Staburadze” and “Lider Artur” in purchase of raw materials and optimal use of sales networks have already shown positive results,” notes Normunds Ozoliņš.

In 2006 major export markets of JSC “Staburadze” were the Baltic States, Germany and Russia. The most popular export product as cookies “Selga”. 

Future plans - consolidate leading position in the Baltic
In 2007 JSC “Staburadze” plans to proceed with the modernization of technological processes, at the same time consolidating its leading position among the Baltic confectionary producers in terms of cost efficiency. Enriching the assortment is in the air. Long-term goal - by 2009 at least 40% of the JSC “Staburadze” production realized in export markets.
