Ride With the Waves of a New Literary Masterpiece -- Author Carlyn Parker Writes a Memoir Highly Relevant to the World of Today

NEW YORK, June 21, 2007 (PRIME NEWSWIRE) -- In Riding The Waves, a life of high mountains and deep valleys actually traveled or emotionally experienced is recounted in poetry and prose. The events of 9/11 and the war with Iraq add relevancy to many of the poems as they offer a perspective on surviving tragedy and the loss of loved ones. If poetry is indeed a way of taking life by the throat, as Robert Frost has succinctly stated, then Parker, with the brilliance of Riding The Waves, has taken the challenge and triumphed with an outstanding literary piece.

"Like a boatman out to sea/Quiet and beauty envelop me/When curled up on a chair/Pad and pencil with me there/Something, someone floods my brain /Writing comes without a strain/Be it morning, noon or night/Words flow -- thoughts take flight/Noise disappears, loneliness, too/Hours flee as a poem I brew," writes Parker. In this memoir, journey to a place where words are alternately calm and fervent, sweet and tearing as one traverses a fascinating landscape of poetry and prose.
