MedAvant Expands Relationship With Aetna to Include Direct Connection for Claims Processing

Agreement Provides Direct Connectivity for Claims and Continued Real Time Transaction Processing


ATLANTA, Sept. 19, 2007 (PRIME NEWSWIRE) -- MedAvant Healthcare Solutions (MedAvant) (Nasdaq:PILL), a leader in healthcare technology and transaction services, today announced it has signed an agreement with Aetna for direct claims processing. MedAvant and Aetna have maintained a direct connection for real-time transaction processing but this agreement adds direct claim submission capabilities for MedAvant's provider customers who are enrolled with Aetna beginning October 1, 2007. MedAvant offers claims submission and real-time transaction processing to its base of 150,000 providers, including eligibility checking, claims status, electronic remittance advice, referrals, and precertifications, all available through its online portal called myMedAvant.
