Industry Veteran Joe Smialowski Joins NewVantage as General Partner


BOSTON, MA--(Marketwire - November 5, 2008) - NewVantage Partners, a partnership of experienced executives dedicated to business and technology planning and execution, today announced that Joseph Smialowski, a well-known industry executive, and member of NewVantage Partners' Executive Advisory Board, has joined the firm as a General Partner.

Smialowski, a former partner with PricewaterhouseCoopers, will join NewVantage Partners' founders Paul Barth and Randy Bean. His focus in this new role will be on helping organizations improve their operational efficiency and effectiveness through reduced risk and cost reduction.

Throughout his career, Smialowski has held key technology leadership roles including Executive Vice President of technology and operations for Freddie Mac and Vice Chairman and CIO of Fleet Boston Financial, where he played a leadership role in the corporate integration following the acquisition by Bank of America. Smialowski also held the position of Senior Vice President and CIO of Sears Roebuck. Joe holds a BA from Merrimack College and an MS in Computer Sciences from Rochester Institute of Technology.
