SAN DIEGO, CA--(Marketwire - May 28, 2009) - This summer, the Hyatt Regency Mission Bay
Spa and Marina is making a splash with families by offering weekly and
daily activities so that everyone can have a fun and enjoyable vacation.
With the only waterslides in San Diego, the waterfront resort is pulling
out all the stops for families with exclusive water taxis to SeaWorld,
"S'mores and Stories," family movies by the pool and much more.
"Our goal was to create activities that are fun and entertaining for every
age group," said Prescott Yee, director of guest services and recreation at
the Hyatt Regency Mission Bay Spa and Marina. "We especially wanted to take
advantage of our amenities such as our three pools and location, as well as
our close proximity to SeaWorld."
All family activities will be offered from June 21 through Labor Day with
the exception of the family movie nights, which will be featured every
Saturday night from Memorial Day weekend to Labor Day. Exciting activities
families can enjoy include:
Family Fun
- Lights, Cameras, Kids: Guests can pull up a lounge chair or soak in
the pool as a family favorite film will be shown in the pool area every
Saturday night.
- S'mores and Stories: Families will love this favorite summer pastime --
roasting marshmallows while listening to campfire stories. The cost is $8
per s'more kit.
- Tuesday Toss: The entire family can participate in a wet and fun water
balloon toss competition every Tuesday.
- Water Taxi to SeaWorld: Guests can take a boat ride to a private
entrance of SeaWorld, avoiding long lines into the park. Cost is $5 per
person roundtrip (children 9 and under are free).
The Concierge Desk also offers discount tickets to all San Diego parks
including SeaWorld, the San Diego Zoo, San Diego Wild Animal Park and
Legoland.
Just for Kids
- Activity Center: Parents looking for a little time to themselves can
bring the kids to the Activity Center, a fun place to meet other kids while
being supervised by Hyatt staff. The activity center is available to kids
between the ages of 4-12, Friday and Saturday evenings.
- Pool-Slide Relay Races: Taking advantage of the Hyatt's two
waterslides, kids will enjoy this exciting relay every Friday.
- Wednesday Wii Tournaments: Rotating games such as boxing, bowling,
tennis and golf competitions will be held every Wednesday.
Additional daily kids' activities include Airbrush Tattoos, Scavenger
Hunts, Hula Hoop Contests and Ping Pong.
Adult Rejuvenation
- Happy Hour: Get cozy next to Red Marlin's two new fire pits while
enjoying specially priced drinks and hors d'oeuvres, every Sunday through
Thursday from 3 to 5:30 p.m. Happy hour specials will also be available at
Swim, the resort's casual yet elegant lounge, from 5:30 to 7 p.m. on
Fridays and Saturdays.
- Blue Marble Spa: Hyatt Pure's first eco-friendly spa, Blue Marble
offers fully organic and all-natural treatments including facials,
massages, body treatments, manicures and pedicures.
- Bingo: Guests will have a chance to win exciting prizes every Sunday
at 2 p.m. Bingo cards are $5 each.
In addition, Water Aerobics will be offered daily based upon availability.
Water sport rentals such as kayaks, sailboats and jet skis are available at
the Mission Bay Sportcenter, which is within easy walking distance of the
resort's grounds.
