Scientific Update on Global Clean Energy, Inc. Biomass to Biofuel Initiatives

HOUSTON, TX--(Marketwire - July 21, 2009) - Global Clean Energy, Inc. (OTCBB: GCEI) announces that it has signed a two year consulting agreement with Vision Capital Research, a Division of Janory Capital to coordinate all scientific and research work being done by the company. Global Clean has been working with Vision Capital Research on an informal basis all year, now all such work has been defined and aimed toward revenue production from the company's proprietary vortex static fluid pump by the 4th quarter of this year.

The company filed on June 30th its full patent application on the Vortex Fluidized Pump.

Clean (pure) synthetic gas and minimal emissions to the environment are key design elements of GCEI's gasifier. A key component to purifying the gas is a centrifuge which can separate and remove unwanted particulates. GCEI has enlisted Dr. George Vatistas, one of the world's leading authorities on vortex theory, to determine the maximum the capacity and efficiency of GCEI's recently patented vortex pump, for both air and liquid pumping and centrifuging. Dr. Vatistas has created a digital model of the pump and redesigns are currently being machined by Cascades Engineering. Dr. Vatistas has recently secured a collaborative grant to equip a laboratory at Concordia University's, Faculty of Engineering to test the pump in vivo.

Another foreseen implementation of the vortex pump will be in the pre-processing of algae. The vortex pump is capable of both pumping the algae from the ponds, and dewatering the algae by centrifuging, thus reducing processing costs to a minimum.

The company's proprietary Hybrid Gasifier is being constructed and the first prototype is scheduled for beginning pilot studies at the end of the 3rd quarter. After 5 years of research and development the design is a radical and novel approach to gasification combining the high efficiency conversion rate of non-oxygen steam-reforming gasification, with a low-energy cost capability.

Gasification is the process of capturing the energy contained in solid organic bio-mass, by high temperature conversion of the material into synthetic gas. What is crucial to this process is being able to create synthetic gas in a clean and efficient manner, minimizing the energy input needed to heat the solids and maximizing the amount of energy produced.

While gasification is not a new process, commercial scale gasifiers capable of processing between 20 - 100 tons per day of organic material are a challenge to design, and no current technology has proven itself commercially viable.

GCEI's design has the flexibility of gasifying a variety of organic inputs -- biomass, coal, municipal solid waste -- at the most efficient temperature and energy cost, while limiting emissions to a minimum.

Lastly, research has been undertaken in the application of algae and jatropha as the most efficient form of feedstock to convert to biomass energy. The company is in a second stage of research to prove the most profitable and efficient application of both feedstocks. The company is also preparing a plan for the most economical growth vehicle utilizing Federal, State, and local governments' cooperation.
