Tensoft Re-Commits to Microsoft Partnership and Vertical Industry Strategy

Approach Delivers More Cost-Effectiveness and Value-Added Benefits in Tight Economy

SAN JOSE, CA--(Marketwire - July 31, 2009) - Tensoft (http://www.tensoft.com), a leading end-to-end ERP and supply chain solution provider for the semiconductor and high tech industries, announced today that Tensoft executives attending the Microsoft Worldwide Partner Conference, held recently in New Orleans, re-affirmed the company's commitment to its vertical industry strategy and to its partnership with Microsoft.

Because of its status as a Microsoft Managed National ISV, the Tensoft executives met with key Microsoft executives from several divisions to discuss plans for FY10. Microsoft both promotes and supports vertical industry strategy for its Microsoft Dynamics partners, which has been Tensoft's key strategy since its inception in 1996.

"Microsoft often refers to the functionality that vertical industry ISVs like Tensoft offer as 'the last mile' of vertical-specific functionality," said Tensoft CEO Bob Scarborough. "Industry-specific capabilities offered by Tensoft and other Managed National ISVs vastly extend the core functionality of Microsoft Dynamics and fill the system requirements gap for a specific vertical industry."

"In the past, companies often filled that gap with custom solutions, but these are both expensive to develop and support and often make upgrades difficult or impractical," Scarborough continued. "Off-the-shelf vertical solutions, like Tensoft's FSM, MNC and RCM products, are now the preferred way to meet industry-specific needs, while providing built-in industry best practices and repeatable processes. We're pleased to see that Microsoft has renewed its vertical-industry focus with new levels of emphasis and support."

Doug Kennedy, Vice President, Microsoft Dynamics Partners, provided further insight in a 7/13/09 feature story on Microsoft Presspass (www.microsoft.com/presspass): "We've enhanced the Microsoft Dynamics partner channel program to take full advantage of the steady growth in demand for vertically specific enterprise resource planning (ERP) and customer relationship management (CRM) solutions. Working closely with our partners and customers over the past few years, we've seen this shift in demand and the subsequent growth and higher level of profitability of partners [like Tensoft] who provide more vertically focused solutions based on Microsoft Dynamics."

"These enhancements align with our ERP and CRM solutions strategy and are a critical step toward helping our vertically oriented partners increase their scale and productivity, and helping horizontally oriented partners transition to be more specialized so they can take advantage of growth opportunities," Kennedy said. "By helping our partners transition to a model of delivering repeatable, vertical solutions, we can help them drive more demand, be more profitable and ultimately grow their businesses."
