(Pink Sheets:RSII) a publicly traded company, announced today that it has signed a letter of intent with LightSource, L.L.C. to finance the promotion and advertising of their theatrical production, "Proud American." The announcement was jointly made by Rising India's CEO and President Arthur Taylor and the film's Executive Producer-Director Fred Ashman on behalf of LightSource L.L.C.
Under the proposed terms of the deal, Rising India, Inc. and Rising India (Singapore) Pte. Ltd. will be providing a funding package in excess of $6.7 million to be used for promotion and advertising. The deal was structured and negotiated by Fred Ashman, on behalf of LightSource, who said, "We went into the marketplace after obtaining overwhelming support from CineMark and several of the largest theater chains in the U.S.A. We found a group almost as excited about promotion of this film as we were to produce it. It's a joy working with Rising India, they understand and embrace our structure and they share our goal of presenting the world a top notch and inspirational feature film. We have distribution and are expecting an initial release on 1,200 to 1,500 screens in all the major U.S. chains. Walmart has an exclusive option for the first 30 days of DVD sales and Time Warner has obtained rights to the U.S.A. Pay-Per-View market. International and television rights are pending."
