NanoProfessor Supports President Obama's Call for Increased Education and Innovation
Hands-On Nanoscience Education Program Prepares Students for Innovative Jobs of the 21st Century

SKOKIE, IL--(Marketwire - October 14, 2009) - In his address from Troy, N.Y. on Monday,
September 21, President Obama called for an increased focus on education
and innovation to "prepare students for 21st century jobs, and to prepare
America for a 21st century global economy."
"We know that the nation that out-educates us today will out-compete us
tomorrow. The ability of new industries to thrive depends on workers with
the knowledge and know-how to contribute in those fields. Yet, today, our
primary and secondary schools continue to trail many of our competitors,
especially in key areas like math and science," said President Obama.
"From biotechnology to nanotechnology, from the development of new forms of
energy to research into treatments of ancient diseases, there is so much
potential to change our world and improve our lives while creating
countless jobs across America."
NanoInk, Inc.®, a global leader in nanotechnology, is among the first to
answer the president's call through the launch of its NanoProfessor™
Nanoscience Education Program. NanoProfessor is a new hands-on science and
technology education program dedicated to preparing undergraduate students
for future careers in the field of nanoscience.
The NanoProfessor program combines NanoInk's state-of-the-art NLP 2000
Desktop DPN® Nanofabrication System with an exciting curriculum created
by renowned nanotechnology experts that is grounded in fundamental science
and engineering concepts. NanoProfessor arms educators with a
comprehensive program that can be implemented immediately in community
colleges, technical schools, high schools, and universities to give
students an edge to compete for high-tech jobs in a global environment.
"Creating jobs that will grow our economy for decades and generations to
come must be at the forefront of everything we do," said Rep. Jan
Schakowsky, D-IL. "By creating the NanoProfessor program, NanoInk turned
vision into reality and took another step toward transforming America's
economy. The growth of the industry centered on this technology has the
possibility to create good jobs in our community and across the country."
"In order for America to compete in the global economy, we need to focus on
innovations that will help create jobs," said Dean Hart, executive vice
president of NanoInk. "Nanotechnology is a rapidly emerging field with
great promise for our Nation, but a true hands-on nanotechnology education
has traditionally only been available to graduate and post graduate
students in Tier 1 research institutions. While extremely valuable to our
Nation's future, you cannot build an industry or a country on the backs of
Ph.D.s. We need to educate and prepare the masses to help secure our
Nation's leadership in new innovations such as nanotechnology."
By 2015, the National Science Foundation has projected that the world will
require a skilled workforce of more than two million nanotechnologists, who
are already pioneering breakthroughs and innovations in the areas of
energy, medicine and electronics that will have profound changes on lives
in the 21st century.
