SHANGHAI, China, Oct. 28, 2009 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Shanda Games Limited ("Shanda Games", or the "Company") (Nasdaq:GAME), a leading online game developer, operator and publisher in China, announced that TS2 Online, a turn-based massively multi-player online role playing game (MMORPG), started the closed-beta testing on October 28, 2009.
TS2 Online is a Q-style 2D turn-based MMORPG based upon the popular Chinese novel "The Romance of Three Kingdoms," which describes the final decades of the Eastern Han Dynasty and the kingdoms of Wei, Shu and Wu during the Third Century A.D. and is one of a collection of four classic novels with an extensive reader base in China. TS2 Online is a sequel to the successful MMORPG TS Online, which received "Most Popular Online Game Award" and "Most Popular Online Game Talent Award" in 2004 from Taiwan Game Star, whose awards are among the most prestigious in Taiwan's online game industry. Combining the essence from TS Online with exciting new game elements, TS2 Online became one of the most successful turn-based MMORPGs in Taiwan market soon after its launch in December, 2008.
In the closed beta testing of TS2 Online in China, the players will not only experience the excitement of fighting in player vs. player turn-based battlefields, but will also enjoy the multitude of experiences within many instances available to the players throughout the game world. The players will also be able to engage in various round-the-clock activities in the game during the closed beta testing.
