LOS ANGELES, Dec. 2, 2010 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- CyberDefender Corporation (Nasdaq:CYDE), a provider of Internet security software, utilities and remote technical support services that work together to maximize online safety for consumers, today announced that the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office has issued the Company patent number US 7,836,506 B2, entitled "Threat Protection Network," for CyberDefender's Threat Protection Network ("TPN").
TPN is one of the key components of CyberDefender's Argus network platform, the Company's cloud-based collaborative Internet security network.
CyberDefender's TPN technology automates the data exchange and management mechanisms used to identify and neutralize threats, and provides rapid malware protection for end users. TPN uses layered automation to compare the threats against multiple known malware databases, and uploads unknown threats to CyberDefender's analysis platform to determine the nature of the potential threat, and the method by which it can be neutralized.
