Angelo Badalamenti and Alf Clausen to Be Honored at ASCAP Film and Television Music Awards

26th Annual Awards Celebration Salutes Top Film & Television Composers of 2010


NEW YORK, NY--(Marketwire - Jun 2, 2011) - Composers Angelo Badalamenti and Alf Clausen will be honored at the 26thAnnual ASCAP Film and Television Music Awards, taking place June 23, 2011 at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Los Angeles, California. Badalamenti will be presented with the distinguished ASCAP Henry Mancini Award and Clausen will receive the prestigious ASCAP Golden Note Award. The composers of the most performed film and television music of 2010 will also be honored at the invitation-only event.

Director David Lynch will present Badalamenti with the ASCAP Henry Mancini Award, which is awarded to composers in recognition of their outstanding achievements and contributions to the world of film and television music. Previous recipients include Bruce Broughton, Carter Burwell, John Debney, Mark Isham, Quincy Jones, Michel Legrand, Randy Newman, James Newton Howard, Johnny Mandel, Marc Shaiman, Howard Shore, Alan Silvestri and Hans Zimmer.

The ASCAP Golden Note Award is presented to songwriters, composers and artists who have achieved extraordinary career milestones. Past recipients include Mark Snow, Andre Previn, Garth Brooks, José Feliciano, Dennis McCarthy, Alan Jackson, Jay-Z, Tom Petty, and Stevie Wonder.

Among those being honored in the Top Box Office Films category are John Debney for "Iron Man 2," "Valentine's Day" and "Yogi Bear," James Newton Howard for "The Last Airbender," "Salt" and "The Tourist," Randy Newman for "Toy Story 3," Trent Reznor for "The Social Network," Trevor Rabin for "The Sorcerer's Apprentice," Pharrell Williams for "Despicable Me" and Hans Zimmer for "Inception" and "Megamind."

Some of the honorees in the Top Television Series and Most Performed Themes and Underscore categories include Sean Callery ("24," "Bones" and Most Performed Themes and Underscore), Jeff Cardoni ("Undercover Boss," "CSI: Miami" and "The Defenders"), Michael Giacchino ("Lost," "Undercovers" and Most Performed Themes and Underscore), Ron Jones and Seth MacFarlane ("Family Guy"), Jimmy Levine ("Glee," "Rizzoli & Isles" and "Royal Pains"), Walter Murphy ("Family Guy" and Most Performed Themes and Underscore), and David Vanacore ("Survivor: Heroes vs. Villains," "Survivor: Nicaragua," "Undercover Boss," "Ghost Hunters" and Most Performed Themes and Underscore).
